How the split is calculated
Tip = bill × tip percentage
Total = bill + tip
Per-person share = total ÷ number of people
Total = bill + tip
Per-person share = total ÷ number of people
Example
An $84.50 bill with a 20% tip produces a $16.90 tip and a $101.40 total. Split equally among three people, each share is $33.80.
